Untitled, (experimental beauty), May 2020

….a beautiful and robust surviver, accidentally imported into Australia which now is famous for being a pest, struck me as a symbol of survival, adaptive and strong, this weed, commonly known as Mexican Poppy, Argemone ochroleuca, decorates the landscape interrupting the cracked red ground, which reminds me more of the human impact rather than the invasive nature of the innocent and human introduced plant.

Native of Central America, this strikingly beautiful bloom shows resilience in the harsh far western NSW region of Fowlers Gap & surrounds where I was on residency back in October 2019.

*music by Edith Piaf

Hand Wash Adagio (FINAL Version)

Sunlight filters upon a man's hands as they dance through the process of being washed.

The slow motion of the moving image coupled with Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor, allows the viewer to contemplate on this daily ritual in a meditative, new light.

STORMY SEA WITH PINK (AFTER TURNER), 2018

Single Channel HD video projection, silent, 16:20sec loop.

Stormy Sea with Pink, was made especially for my solo show in January 2018, and was screened as a large scale projection.

By ‘washing my dirty laundry in public’, I create a space for contemplation and question the continual exploitation of Women, still being drowned by society, oppressed by the system, by other women and by themselves.
